GAW visits the PM1 at Sonoco Menasha
Some machines really last longer than a lifetime!
Christian Makari from GAW technologies GmbH and Daniel Rusnarczyk romf GAW Paper Coating Systems had the opportunity to visit our customer Sonoco in Menasha, WI and took a look at the impressive PM1. The basic body and structure of the “old lady” roots back to its construction in 1908.
Paper machines generally have a quite long life-span, but this one is particularly impressive.
The PM1 produces 9-layerd core board and GAW Paper Coating Systems delivered a starch preparation plant some years ago.
It does not matter if a paper machine has over 100 years of production on its back (or its cylinders 😉): GAW is experienced in best preparation systems for greenfield, brownfield and even “old-timer” machines – like this long-serving gentle giant.
And it certainly feels good in times like these -where everything is changing so fast- to take a look at living and still working history that lasts more than a century!
