GAW sponsers the Alpentour Trophy 2023
The 24rd edition of the Alpentour Trophy – a four-day mountain biking adventure race – took place this summer in the Schladming Dachstein area in Styria/Austria.
GAW technologies was one of the sponsors of this sport event that is traditionally open to professionals, amateurs and hobby bikers and has a venue in a truly amazing and beautiful landscape. About 300 participants drove up- and downhill on a 200 kilometre course that covered 8,800 vertical meters – sometimes shoulder to shoulder with some of the common local animal inhabitants of the mountain meadows.
In the women's category, Milena Kalasova (in the GAW jersey) from the Czech Republic celebrated four stage victories and confidently secured the overall success. The overall victory for the men went to the Colombian Leonardo Paez.
“The tour was again a great success and the feedback from the participants was very good.
As an organizer you are of course happy about that," explained Gerhard Schönbacher, who expanded the supporting program this year to include a children's race. “The City Sprint for the little ones was also very well received. It was really nice to see the children beaming as they swept through the center of Schladming on their tricycles, children’s bikes and mountain bikes.”
