GAW supports the IV Teacher´s Award 2023
And the IV Teacher´s Award goes to...
For the fourth time, the IV Teacher’s Award Graz was presented in the festive framework of the municipal council meeting room in Graz City Hall.
The award honours outstanding performances of pedagogues/educators and is organized by the Department for Education and Integration of the City of Graz and the Industriellenvereinigung Steiermark (Industrial Association of Styria).
City Councilor Kurt Hohensinner, MBA honoured the award winners of 2023: "My vision is that Graz is a city in which everyone can develop their talents in the best possible way. This can only succeed if we get our children enthusiastic about education and actively take care of their strengths and talents and promote them. Our educators are therefore a crucial factor on the way to fulfilling this vision.”
IV-Styria Managing Director Gernot Pagger added: “Teachers do a great job and we are pleased that we can honour these achievements with our Teacher's Award Graz. Education and qualifications are the key to individual success and a prosperous career path. And also for a successful business and industrial location.“
In addition to the title, the winners received the prize of Graz vouchers worth 1,000 euros each.
Four industrial companies supported the award and GAW technologies GmbH sponsored the category “elementary education”.
The winner in this category is Anna Riegler from the intercultural educational garden with the project "Sea Animals". In the first part of the project, the children collected information from non-fiction books and film recordings of underwater worlds. Inspired by the film footage, the children wanted to create an underwater world. In the second part of the project, the children created large-format pictures in pairs. Based on a child's idea of making a film with sea creatures, a stop-motion film was developed in the third part.

Particularly in times of skilled-laboured shortage, high-quality education is an important part of the solution.
